DS wanted muffins for breakfast this morning, so last night he made these snickerdoodle muffins. Here they are hot from the oven and they were yummy this morning! Can't you just taste that sugar and cinnamon topping!?!?
Each year in June, the Art Association organizes a jazz concert series called "Jazz in June". It is held every Tuesday evening in June on the university campus outside the art gallery. Everyone brings a lawn chair or blanket to sit and enjoy the music. The weather was great this year, so friends and I attended every concert. Here are a few photos from the last concert of the series.
A few years ago I was really into vintage jewelry and bought these pins. They're not especially valuable or expensive, but I still like to wear them on my denim jacket or on a lapel of a suit jacket (which I rarely wear). They just add a little sparkle and I always wonder who wore them before I did.
My dh used to travel to Japan for business several years ago and on one of those trips he brought back this beautiful pearl necklace for me. I just love the feel and weight of the pearls when I wear it, so it fits this weeks theme of "favorite jewelry". It was a challenge for me to take an interesting and creative photo of a necklace, what do you think?
Don't you just love getting new running shoes? They add a little extra bounce to my step when I go for a walk - which I try to do regularly! There are so many cool shoes on the market, it's hard to choose a favorite, but I love the aqua blue and silver on these and they are really comfortable on my feet. So, no more excuses for not walking!!! My old shoes will retire to be used for lawn mowing and gardening.
I call these my "2 hour" sandals because I can only wear them for a few hours because they are not comfortable! I think I've worn them twice! I would much rather slip on my comfy flip flops. :)
As I was enjoying my glass of wine last night, I decided that this little coaster would be my post for today's POTD. It's footwear...right??? My son gave this to me for mother's day. It's a coaster for the foot of your glass. Check this website if you want to see all the cute versions of this.
The theme this week is shoes, so I thought I would post this photo of flip-flops, because I wear them all summer when I'm not at work. This is a photo I took last spring with a little Sony p & s, before I got my Rebel xti. I had a Saturday morning pedicure party and everyone got a pair of these pink flip-flops to wear home, so they wouldn't mess up their freshly manicured toes! These were from the $ spot at Target - love that place.
The theme this week is "Hands". I love taking pictures of hands because they are so expressive and always tell a story. These are the hands of ds #1 girlfriend. She plays the piano a little. She is a member of the college marching band in which she plays the piccolo and sometimes the flute. We are very proud of her!
