The Texture of a Plant

This plant sits on our patio and I call it the "bad hair day" plant. I love the texture of this guy.

How does the b & w work? I'm on the laptop at home, not my usual computer.

Starfish and Seashells

These starfish and seashells are sitting in a basket on our coffee table. I bought them in Florida when I was there about a year ago. I very carefully wrapped them and carried them in my carry-on on the airplane and they survived the trip home! Every time I look at them they remind me of the beach and the ocean.

Flowers from the Market

More shots from the farmers market. I love fresh flowers, so I bought myself a bouquet. This vendor does such a great job of putting flowers together in a beautiful combination. The last macro shot shows the texture in these (not sure what they are).

Do you think the angle shot works on the vase of flowers?

Farmer's Market

I went to the Farmer's Market with a friend this past Saturday morning. I just love all the sights, sounds and scents and all the activity that happens there. We bought fresh produce and flowers, then headed for our favorite spot to get a freshly made gigantic cinnamon roll with lots of frosting. Oh so bad, but tastes oh soooooo yummy!

This is fresh dill - notice the texture of the plant. :)

Pink and Green

Here is more ribbon from my scrapping stash, haven't used it yet but it sure is cute! I like the pink, but this green is one of my favorite colors! I also like the vintage look of the rick-rack.

Another Mini Album

This is a little album I made for ds girlfriend as a graduation gift. Made with chipboard and Basic Grey papers. I used glitter, rhinestones and ribbon etc. to embellish it.

Colorful Ribbon

I can't resist buying a few rolls of ribbon whenever I visit the craft store. I love all the coordinating colors and patterns that are available. I use it for scrapping and gift wrapping. Don't you just love giving (and getting) a package wrapped with a beautiful ribbon?

My dad made this little shelf a few years ago for ds to display all his beanie babies. He doesn't use it anymore, so I hung it in my craftroom to store some of my ribbon rolls. The walls are a pale green color, so my photo has a green cast. Any tips to correct that?

Prima Fancy Pants

I just love these little Prima flowers for scrapbooking. They come in these cute little jars. I usually use a clear rhinestone brad to attach them to my pages. I took these photos using my Canon Macro 60mm lens. I still need lots of practice! The first one is focused on the jar label, the second is focused on the yellow flower in front.

Graduation Mini Book

The theme this week is "scrapbooking". I used to do a lot more scrapbooking when the boys were little and I had more free time. I made this mini scrapbook to put on the table with other photographs at DS graduation party. As you can see, he doesn't like to smile much! :)
I got the idea HERE at two peas. It was quick, easy and fun to make using papers and embellishments I had in my stash. Please excuse the glare on some of the photos!

P.S. Sorry, these are out of order, but you get the idea! I've never posted this many pics before.

Great Balls of Fire!!!

Here is my version of fire for today. DS just loves these Atomic FireBall candies and there are always a few in the candy dish. They are SO HOT - I definitely cannot handle them!

I am usually not a fan of adding a color border around photos, but I thought the yellow and red border here added to the "FIRE" theme.

Sweet Strawberry

The theme this week is fire, so this is a very predictable shot, but I love these Yankee Candle Housewarmer jar candles. This is one of my favorite scents - Sweet Strawberry. I have it in our kitchen and when it's burning, it fills the room with that wonderful, mouthwatering strawberry scent! What is your favorite "Yankee" scent?
