Hot, Hot, Hot...

Can you tell that we like hot sauce at our house? dh and both ds put it on eggs, tacos and nachos. I love the picante sauce but can't do the tabasco sauce! Cropped and rotated in pse, is it too much?

I'm off to check out other blogs, then to the camera store. I'm renting a Canon Macro 100 2.8 lens for the weekend. I'll post if I get any good shots! Have a great Saturday!

Cookies

My niece is a girl scout and every year she can count on aunt Robin to buy several boxes of girl scout cookies. Lemonades are my new favorite, but we also love the thin mints and peanut butter patties. What's your favorite?

What's For Dinner...

We have spaghetti 2 or 3 times a month at our house. It's hard to take photos while you are cooking! I'm lucky I didn't burn the garlic bread!

Work of Art ? ? ?

I try to bring my lunch to work most days. I usually have a salad with lots of goodies mixed in. The guys in the lunchroom tell me that my salad is a "work of art"! They say this as they are eating their raman noodles and spaghettio's! I tell them "you eat with your eyes first".

I took this photo at a friend's house in February. (I took a couple of pics this morning of some strawberries I bought this weekend and they didn't look as good as these). We had a group get together and she provided the chocolate fountain and we all brought dippers for the chocolate. Two of my favorite foods - chocolate and strawberries!

Movie Night

We bought this new lcd tv a few weeks ago, and hadn't watched a movie on it yet. DH is out of town this weekend and ds was out with friends, so last night I decided to rent "The Holiday" to watch on the new tv. Took me about 15 minutes just to figure out how to start the dvd! This is such a cute movie, I did see it at the theater when it came out, but wanted to see it again. I think it has become one of my "favorite" movies. I love the interaction of Iris and Arthur in the show.

Curly Sticks

I thought these curly twigs would make an interesting photo. They are in a black vase sitting on our fireplace hearth. They have kind of a gold shimmer to them, don't know if it shows in the photo. I laid them on the table to get the second shot because they are really long.

Wine Stopper

I enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings. My favorite is dark red cabernet or merlot, but I like to try all varieties. I bought this wine stopper as part of a set and gave one as a gift and kept this one. I adjusted levels on these (thanks Heather!). Do they look too "adjusted"?

Can you guess?

Didn't have a chance to take any new photos for today. These are from a few weeks ago when our photography class assignment was to take photos in our own backyard. This is a household item that most of us have. Can you guess what it is?

Another Favorite Color

I was putting out a few Easter decorations yesterday and came across these speckled eggs. These are some of my favorite colors (besides red). The green color in the first image is my favorite color to wear and I love the calming "Robin's egg blue". I have enjoyed the *favorite color* challenge this week, both taking the photos and seeing everyone's posts. Lots of great images! Thank you all for sharing and commenting.

Lucky Shamrock Plant

Happy St. Patrick's Day! It is said that St. Patrick, the saint who brought Christianity to Ireland, used the shamrock to illustrate the doctrine of the Holy Trinity to his congregation. Each leaf symbolizes the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit.

Not in perfect focus but I love the color of this orchid and the natural white outline around the edge of the flower.

Red Flowers

I went to the garden center on my lunch hour today. The lighting in the greenhouse is great. I may have to go back again for more practice. I could have spent the entire afternoon there!

Red Motorcycle

My younger son (18) has always been adventurous. He has wanted a motorcycle for a long time and has worked hard to save enough money to get this. He has had lots of experience riding go carts, dirt bikes and smaller motorcycles since he was very young and has taken a rider's safety course. Still makes me a little nervous sometimes!

Running Shoes

My older son was a track and cross country runner in high school. These are the spikes he wore during his last season of running - very colorful! I miss going to the meets and seeing all the other kids and parents. He is a junior in college now, this is one of his textbooks. How does the focus look on this? Taken in AV mode, WB shade, f5.6 SS 1/60 90mm focal length.

Favorite Colors

This is a little candy dish that sits on the desk in my office. I love the bright, cheery colors. If I had to choose just one color as a favorite, I would say it is red, but I really like almost every color. Still working on getting WB and focus correct!

Cuisinart Panini

We love our Cuisinart Panini grill. It is so easy to make a great tasting panini sandwich for dinner. I use fresh baked bread from the local bakery - "The Grain Bin" and add meat and cheese and a little butter. It also came with flat plates, so we can make pancakes on it too.

Jeepers Creepers...

I need new peepers! I hate to admit it, but I am at the point where I need reading glasses to see close up. These readers definitely make my life a little easier. I have these in other colors too - pink, green, red, turquoise and lavender. Bring on the bling!

Clean for one day!

I just couldn't stand it any longer, I had to get my SUV washed. The snow is melting like crazy and the roads are wet, so the cleanliness won't last. I usually try to wash it by hand, but the drive thru car wash is great when you're in a hurry!

My Computer

For the most part makes my life easier, but sometimes I wonder...

What Time Is It?

I have a thing for watches and this is just a few of them. If I forget to wear my watch, I feel kind of lost for the day. Whenever I go shopping with my friends, they look at the jewelry, I look at watches!

A Special Vase

Last spring,my friend gave me this vase filled with flowers from her garden. Gardening is one of my hobbies and I can't wait for spring to start planting flowers and herbs. I am trying to add some perennials each year. We are in the midst of a winter storm today, so I'll have to be patient!
P.S. I see from my monitor at home that I need to be a bit more careful with my photoshop work. oops!
